Take out the devil

Use − to remove a note and hear the result; + restores it. Remove both tritone notes: 4 and 7 from major, 2 and 6 from natural minor. They are six half steps apart.

Click any written note to hear it, including ghosts. Left/Right moves and auditions; Enter/Space repeats. Faint, crossed notes are removed; degree numbers retain their original positions.

Play sounds the remaining notes. Up & down repeats the top note. Stop ends playback. Changing home note keeps removals; Major/Minor restores the full source. All tonic spellings remain available, including double accidentals.

Piano marks remaining pitches with dots and shading; all keys can sound. Removed pitches are named even in other octaves. Locate moves only the piano. Text version gives the full notes and steps. Blues can still include tension.
